On October 15, Supervisor Diane Burgis distributed Measure X Park and Recreation Funds to support programs in District 3’s unincorporated communities — Bethel Island, Byron, Discovery Bay, and Knightsen — in partnership with Contra Costa County Public Works. These areas, which lack their own city governments, rely on the county for services. Burgis and her team visited organizations selected for their strong community contributions, emphasizing that this funding marks just the beginning of continued support.
“I am so grateful we were able to provide for them in this way. Look out for their work in your area. I am confident they have big plans,” said Burgis. “Thank you to all who do this great work, and a special thank you and congratulations to our District 3 recipients.”
